Things to do in Cullera
Cullera is much more than the beach. This is our up-to-date guide: the essentials, the underrated, the things only locals know — and where to grab something between plans.
The essentials
- Cullera Norte / Racó beach — fine sand, long, seafront promenade. The default family beach.
- Cullera Castle — 13th-century Moorish fortress, rebuilt. Drive up or walk through the old town. 360° views.
- Cullera Lighthouse — Mediterranean viewpoint, world-class sunsets, free parking. Recommended read: our full guide.
- Dragut Cave — coastal cave reached by boat or kayak from the port. 30–40 min guided tour.
- Old town and Santos Juanes church — narrow streets, baroque church, perfect end-of-day stroll.
The underrated (which we prefer)
- Cala del Far and Cap Blanc — small coves reachable from the lighthouse. Turquoise water, almost empty first thing in the morning.
- Albufera Natural Park — 20 minutes from Cullera. Boat ride across the lake at sunset, traditional barracas, real rice at El Palmar.
- Cueva del Volcán del Faro — spectacular geological cave at the foot of the cape. Kayak access.
- Far-to-Racó coastal trail — 40 minutes along the cliffs with regular viewpoints.
- Cullera Market — Saturday mornings: Valencian fruit, cheese, fish of the day.
One-day route (family-friendly)
- 10:00 — Racó beach. Sandcastles, calm swim.
- 13:30 — Valencian paella at an Albufera or port-side restaurant.
- 17:00 — Climb up to Cullera Castle (cooler in the afternoon).
- 19:30 — Drive up to the Cullera Lighthouse for sunset.
- 20:30 — Horchata slushie, artisan popsicle or waffle at Gelateria El Faro back in the district, after coming down from the cape.
Where to grab something in Faro de Cullera
Right in the coastal district, Gelateria El Faro is a convenient stop before or after heading up the cape. We serve artisan ice cream, Valencian-style slushies (horchata, lemon, coffee, malt), hand-made popsicles, fartons, waffles with pistachio and Dubai Chocolate cream, coffee, milkshakes and soft drinks. Open Saturdays (4 pm – 11 pm) and Sundays (4 pm – 9 pm). Hours expand in summer — check our Instagram.
