Guide
The best sunset in Cullera
Three viewpoints, three very different sunsets. This is the guide to get it right: where, when, and how to plan ahead.
1. Cullera Lighthouse (the classic)
The winner for most people. The lighthouse sits on the cape, on an open elevation facing the Mediterranean, with no obstacles. The sun drops behind the sea horizon and the light sets the whole sky on fire. Free parking and a viewpoint with benches.
When to arrive: 30–45 minutes before sunset in summer, 15–20 in winter. Tip: after sunset, head back down to the Faro de Cullera district and stop by Gelateria El Faro for a slushie or a coffee.

2. Cullera Castle (views over the Albufera)
A different show: here the sun drops behind the Albufera and the rice fields, not over the sea. The light is warmer, more golden. You get Cullera at your feet and the sea on the other side. Ideal if you want a 360° panorama.
Access: by car up the castle road or on foot from the old town (10–15 min climb).
3. From the beach (relaxed)
Racó beach and Cap Blanc are perfect if you want the sunset from the sand or from the water. Less drama, more intimate. Bring a towel and stay until the moon shows up.
What time does it set (approx.)
- December–January: ~17:30
- March–April: ~19:30–20:00
- June–July: ~21:30–21:45 (the longest days)
- September: ~20:00–20:30

What to bring
- A light jacket (the wind picks up at sunset, even in summer).
- Water and a snack. No fountains at the lighthouse.
- Camera or phone with space.
- Something sweet. A horchata popsicle or a slushie deserve the moment.
